We have new intel on the Assassin's Creed movie thanks to Entertainment Weekly's Fall Movie Preview. An interview with the film's production armorer Tim Wildgoose reveals that not only will weapons previously seen in the video game series appear in the film, the original wielders of these weapons will also appear. "There’s basically a few assassins taken straight from the games, who we get to see in the films. We actually get to use some of the real game weapons in there."
Sadly, Wildgoose quickly cautioned that fans shouldn't expect any of the main protagonist to appear in the film. "They’re not main characters from the games, but they’re very famous characters that the fans will probably enjoy."
Assassin's Creed arrives in theaters on December 21, 2016 where it will go head-to-head with (gulp) Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
