Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the next installment in the
Assassin's Creed series that began all the way back in 2007. As the 12th game in the series, Odyssey will take players all the way back to Ancient Greece—thus becoming the very first title in the
Assassin's Creed main series of games, chronologically speaking.
Ever since its introduction in
Assassin's Creed 3, naval combats have become an almost mandatory staple; and for good reason. Naval battles gave
Assassin's Creed an interesting mechanic that was not only gratifying, but also very unique in its own right.
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is a testament to that, built from the ground up around the pirate theme solely because of how successful naval combats were in its prequel. It is an interesting mechanic that makes naval exploration fun, and challenging.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey will also be including naval combat, and today's video released by Ubisoft shows off some of the visually stunning combat taking place in the Aegean sea. Fans will also be pleased to hear that chants are also making a comeback and, like in previous games, players will be able to unlock more, and more chants as they progress in the game.
