The wait is almost over as Ubisoft Quebec's
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey will be finally released this Friday. The fact that the open-world epic is getting raving reviews (currently sitting at a fantastic 85% score on Metacritic with almost 60 reviews) that compare
Odyssey to
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The critics praise the world design, combat, story and even debuting in the series deeper RPG systems.
IGN has published a short video that compares the real-world statues and buildings that still can be found in Greece with Ubisoft’s vision of the ancient Hellas. It's safe to say that the results are impressive and the (in?)famous statue of naked Zeus is not the only landmark players will have a joy to explore, as the studio created some fanatic reconstructions of Parthenon, what seems to be the ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, and many, many more.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is not only the longest game in the series (it takes up to 40 hours finish the story missions alone!), but also one of the biggest and richest worlds in the history of the genre. The fact that we won't get a new
Assassin's Creed game next year (at least according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot) makes us think that you won't regret embarking on that particular odyssey...
