The developers at Ubisoft have recently been revealed quite the bunch of interesting details about the recently announced Assassin's Creed Valhalla; most of them promising to give this new entry in the series some new features not present in previous entries, or even bringing back elements that were thought lost.
Ubisoft has been sharing some behind the scenes clips that see Assassin's Creed Valhalla Creative Director Ashraf Ismail answering some questions that they get on social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit; questions asked by fans of the series, of course.
The latest question comes from Reddit user Kalap, who asks Ubisoft how they'll tackle flyting competitions in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. For those not aware, flyting is a contest in which two parties insult each other in verses; the modern-day equivalent of this would be rap battles.
Yes, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will feature rap battles between Vikings and Saxons — which is actually historically accurate, so it won't be out of place at all. According to Ismail, they wanted to have fun with this concept, and have implemented it seamlessly in the game.
"You're facing off against somebody, or they challenge Eivor. They'll insult Eivor. Eivor will have to find a response," explains Ismail. "And so, you'll have multiple choices in front of you, and you'll have to find the right one that matches the insult; the one that has the right rhythm."
Ashraf Ismail does reveal that there's more to that than what he's revealed, but they will be revealing more details about these Viking rap battles in the future.
