Disney Is Shutting Down Their AVENGERS ALLIANCE Games At The End Of September

Disney continues to be pretty merciless when it comes to shutting down games which fail to live up to their expectations as they've confirmed that Avengers Alliance 2 is set to end just months after release...

If a video game fails to live up to their expectations, Disney doesn't hesitate to pull the plug. That's why players had to say goodbye to Disney Infinity earlier this year, and now Marvel: Avengers Alliance is going the same way. It was only back in March that Avengers Alliance 2 was released, but the mobile releases simply haven't lived up to expectation, hence why the following statement has been released.

"Today we are announcing the shutdown of Marvel: Avengers Alliance and Marvel: Avengers Alliance 2 on all platforms, including the App Store®, Google Play™, Amazon Appstore, Windows Phone Store, and Facebook. Beginning today, we are no longer accepting new purchases or downloads, but the games will be available to play until September 30, 2016."

For those who were enjoying the game (which originally became a fan-favourite release when it hit the PlayStation 2 and Xbox a number of years ago), this is obviously disappointing news. There's now less than a month left to try it out anyway, and the team behind Avengers Alliance has moved on to newer projects. What those are remains to be seen, but here's hoping for something Marvel related!
