Capcom has confirmed that DmC Devil May Cry is now available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system across Europe and North America.

The Windows PC version will be released on January 25, 2013 via digital download in North America.

Developed by Ninja Theory, DmC Devil May Cry sees the return of iconic video-game character, Dante. In a retelling of his origin story, DmC Devil May Cry retains the stylish action, fluid combat and self-assured protagonist that have defined the iconic series but injects it with a more brutal and visceral edge. Dante knows that he is not human, but also that he is not like the demons that have tormented him throughout his life. Caught between worlds, Dante must discover what it means to be the child of a demon and an angel with the help of his twin brother, Vergil, leader of the anti-establishment group “The Order”.

Capcom will be supporting the release of DmC Devil May Cry with additional downloadable content. Bloody Palace Mode will be coming to Xbox 360, PS3 and Windows PC shortly after launch completely free of charge. The highly anticipated mode will deliver over 100 bonus levels featuring wave after wave of enemy attacks. Stylish combat will be recognized with gamers having the opportunity to top the global leader boards as Bloody Palace’s number one demon slayer. Vergil’s Downfall is currently planned for release at the end of February for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and Windows PC owners. The additional content will provide players with a brand new chapter of the DmC Devil May Cry adventure which follows the untold story of Dante’s twin brother Vergil. The add-on contains hours of brand new gameplay, four difficulty levels and an all new storyline, weapons, combos, enemies and locations. Vergil’s Downfall will be available to purchase for 720 Microsoft Points or $8.99 on PC and PlayStation®Network. A costume pack featuring several alternative outfits for Dante will also be released after launch for 320 Microsoft points or $3.99 on PlayStation Network and Windows PC.

About DmC Devil May Cry

Set against a contemporary backdrop, DmC will depict a duplicitous world where nothing is ever as it seems and the line between good and evil is constantly blurred. Spurred into action by the promises of a trusted relation, Dante bursts into this world intent on revenge at any cost. DmC will retain the series' signature mix of sword and gunplay but add additional weapons, all new powers and a revitalised gameplay system as players encounter the game’s devilish mix of enemies and navigate the rich, interactive environment.

A true collaboration, DmC sees the team at Ninja Theory joined by key staff from Capcom's R&D division. Creative direction for the title will be undertaken by Ninja Theory’s Tameen Antoniades and overseen by Hedeaki Itsuno, who has worked on all previous titles in the series. DmC is being co-produced by Capcom’s Japanese and North American development operations.
