Since its release in 2017, For Honor has continued to expand its vast universe with new heroes, modes, and features like dedicated servers and special training mode. Six seasons of content, including regular in-game events, later, Ubisoft Montreal seemingly found a way to keep the faction war fresh and exciting with the upcoming inclusion of Marching Fire, For Honor’s largest expansion ever.
The game's population has continued to grow since launch and Ubisoft has announced that For Honor has surpassed 15 million players. For Honor is no Rainbow Six: Siege when it comes to sheer player count (which recently officially surpassed 35 million registered players), but it's still an impressive achievement and it looks like Ubisoft will only continue to support the unique fighting title.
"Warriors fight together and this is exemplified by the ever-growing For Honor community of players worldwide. Over the last year, we have worked tirelessly to do right by our community as we continue to build and expand the world of For Honor, and it is the community's passion that has ensured that we have been able to stay the course," Stephane Cardin, senior producer at Ubisoft Montreal said in a press release. "On behalf of the entire team, we would like to thank the 15 million warriors that have taken up arms and joined us on the battlefield. We are deeply honored to have reached this milestone, and we will continue to support For Honor so that more may enjoy what we've built so far."
The upcoming free For Honor expansion, Marching Fire will feature a new faction in the form of the Chinese-based Wu Lin Warriors represented by The Jiang Jun, once a feared general, now uses his guandao to wreak havoc on the West. The Nuxia, a betrayed bodyguard, uses her hook swords to slay anyone who stands in her way. The Shaolin, a warrior monk forced to watch his monastery burn, now spreads the gospel with his staff. The Tiandi once sat fourth in line for the throne but was consumed by madness and killed his brothers, leading to the defeat of his empire.
