NetEase Games and Marvel Games have announced that Psylocke has joined the roster for the upcoming superhero shooter Marvel Rivals.

"She was ripped from her reality by the Timestream Entanglement. Now, the formidable feudal warrior Psylocke is ready to strike in Marvel Rivals!" NetEase Games teased alongside a character reveal trailer. "With her psionic energy, Sai manifests a wide array of weapons, from crossbows to shurikens, while skillfully hunting down her enemies. Only the butterfly's wingbeat can be heard when the last of her foes falls to her odachi."

Marvel Rvials is primarily a PvP Shooter and while Psylocke does wield a crossbow and shurikens to deal damage from afar, it's really her psionic abilities that make her a threat on the battlefield. As a Duelist, she specializes in dealing damage. Quick and agile, Psylocke's speed and abilities allow her to dash across short distances, while also being able to cloak herself and appear invisible. This allows her to sneak up on enemies before unleashing her deadly attacks. Her ultimate ability brings her entire ability kit together as Psylocke "rushes across the battlefield with her wings on full display, cutting down all enemies in her path."

A wandering ronin in feudal Japan, the telekinetic warrior known as Sai has devoted herself to striking down ancient demons and monsters. With her wolf Logan by her side, Psylocke won't rest until all Yokai have fallen by her psychic blade. Sai was ripped from her reality by the Timestream Entanglement and put on display by the Collector. Alongside newfound allies, she escaped her cage and learned that other familiar warriors might still be out there. Her new quest is to gather those heroes, end this conflict, and return home.

Pyslocke's appearance in Marvel Rivals is inspired by her design from the best-selling comic Demon Days: X-Men by award-winning comic book artist Peach Momoko. The character design in the game was co-created by Marvel Rivals artists and Momoko. She is voiced by actress Alpha Takahashi (Cyberpunk 2077).

Psylocke was one of 20 characters previously leaked for the hero shooter game, alongside Venom, Winter Soldier, Captain America, and Jeff the Landshark — all of whom were also already announced. Given that we've now gotten four characters from that leaked list announced, it's starting to seem like it's only a matter of time before we get others, like the Fantastic Four, Ultron, Blade, and more.

With Psylocke's addition, there are now 26 confirmed playable characters.From Spider-Man and Magneto to Star-Lord and Iron Man, this is truly shaping up to be a blockbuster hero shooter.

Marvel Rivals is set to release on December 6, 2024. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. All heroes will be unlocked and free-to-play at launch and beyond.
