Just like the original
Resident Evil 2, the upcoming remake will feature two extended campaigns to provide players with different points of view to the core horror story. The player will have a chance to experience the story from the perspectives of Claire Redfield, the younger sister of BSAA operative and former S.T.A.R.S. member Chris Redfield, and Leon Kennedy, a federal agent for the D.S.O.
Unlike the classic Capcom title,
Resident Evil 2 Remake has abandoned the fixed camera, allowing the player to see the action from the shoulder camera type, that was quite interestingly popularized by 2005's
Resident Evil 4. During a recent interview with the PlayStation Official Magazine UK,
Resident Evil 2 Remake Producer Tsuyoshi Kanda revealed that he's thinking about remaking the older games.
"I think It would be interesting to provide OTS versions of our fixed camera games, but for the time being my priority is making Resident Evil 2 a success," Kanda explained. Considering that the new
Resident Evil 2 might very well be an enormous sales hit, Capcom may greenlight a remake of
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, that was the last major game in the series that used the fixed camera angle, soon.
The genre-defining masterpiece Resident Evil 2 returns, completely re-built from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience. Using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 2 offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-poundingly immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of gameplay modes from the original game.
Resident Evil 2 will return reimagined for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on January 25, 2019.
