Capcom's remake of Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was finally released on the 3rd of April, and the game has actually been very well-received by fans of the Resident Evil series, critics, and general audiences alike; not much of a surprise, considering just how overwhelmingly positive Resident Evil 2's reception was.
Earlier today, Capcom has announced that the recently released Resident Evil 3 has already managed to sell a very impressive 2 million copies worldwide. What's even more impressive, is that this number of copies were sold in only 5 days after the game was released earlier this month.
To put things into perspective, Resident Evil 2 had managed to sell an even more impressive 3.5 million copies within its first week after its official launch in January of 2019. After a month after release, Capcom announced that Resident Evil 2 had already sold over 4 million copies worldwide, satisfactorily exceeding all expectations the developer had.
As per Capcom's announcement, it is also worth mentioning that cumulative sales for Resident Evil 2 have already exceeded a staggering 6.5 million copies worldwide since its release in January of last year. No wonder why Capcom may be considering to also remake Resident Evil 4.
As mentioned above, Resident Evil 3 has just released a mere 10 days ago, and it is more than likely that over the past 5 days sales have increased. It will be definitely interesting to see how the game's doing one month after launch, and if it manages to surpass Resident Evil 2's sales. Whatever the case, it is fair to say that the game has been doing great so far.
