Today was a busy day! Not only did Capcom release what looks to be the final US trailer for Resident Evil 5, they also released some new "enemy" artwork.
Visit the RE 5 videos area to check out the new trailer! It's fairly long, clocking in at just over three minutes in length, and it gives us a look at not only the in-game cinematics and gameplay, but we get a few more details on the games' storyline.
Along with the new enemies artwork, we have over 15 new screenshots that we were able to get our hands on, and you're unlikely to find anywhere else. We've added over 20 new screenshots and pieces of artwork to the RE5 pictures area.
Now, as if that isn't enough, we've also added the Q&A regarding Popokarim boss monster! Boy, is he an ugly sucker, or what?
Popokarim Q&A with Jun Takeuchi, Executive Producer RE5
(Thanks to
ResidentEvil.com/5/Kijuju)
Q: Tell us about Popocarim's feature.
A: We tried to come up with something based on an African creature and used a bat as a motif. A boss with both aerial and ground combat styles was the image we had in mind.
Q: How long did it take to design?
A: It took us two to three weeks to produce a rough design. Refining and modeling took about one month. We had a semi-final design then, and we further tweaked it as time allowed.
Q: What is Popocarim's level of difficulty?
A: Popocarim will be at about the same level of difficulty as Yawn in RE1 among the others Chris fought. Actually, since he will have a tough time fighting against the boss even with a partner, Popocarim might actually be much stronger than Yawn.
Q: Popocarim looks like the boss which apeared in RE Umbrella Chronicles, but more like a muted (mutated?) one. Is this based on differences between T-Virus and Plaga?
A: No, the differences are not a result of La Plaga. Popocarim is a BOW developed by Tricel.
Q: What was your focus in developing Popocarim in the Co-op environment?
A: We aimed to create a boss that requires two partners full cooperation to defeat. You will take a beating by fighting alone, and even the seperate work of two individuals won't be strong enough.
The game provides many strategies, and gameplay dramatically changes depending on the weapons and player's positioning. Your co-op partner will contribute to develop an entirely different gameplay experience. That beauty of co-op play can be clearly felt and experiened when fighting against this boss.
