The
Resident Evil 2 remake has Capcom taking fans of the iconic survival horror series back to Raccoon City. Not only does
Resident Evil 2 take fans back to the iconic Raccoon City police Department, but it is also taking the series back to its roots; which had almost become an action series in some of the more recent entries.
This new rendition of the game, however, is not a carbon copy of the original. While some of the locations are exactly where longtime fans expect them to be, the
Resident Evil 2 remake changes things up just enough for players to experience the original game with a few tweaks that will have longtime fans excited to revisit the unforgiving RPD station.
Thanks to the upgrade in graphics,
Resident Evil 2 will allow players to experience the same story with cutscenes that expand on the narrative seen in the original. Some scenes that were just "there" in the original, are now crucial parts of the story, and in today's video uploaded by PlayStation, we see the PlayStation Underground crew playing through Claire's campaign as she runs into a few familiar faces, as well as a lethal Licker.
Take a look:
The genre-defining masterpiece Resident Evil 2 returns, completely re-built from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience. Using Capcom’s proprietary RE Engine, Resident Evil 2 offers a fresh take on the classic survival horror saga with breathtakingly realistic visuals, heart-poundingly immersive audio, a new over-the-shoulder camera, and modernized controls on top of gameplay modes from the original game.
Resident Evil 2 will be available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 25th of January in 2019.
