Resident Evil 4 is often considered to be one of the best entries in Capcom's long-running survival horror series, as well as the game that has been ported to pretty much every console in existence; further proving the game's popularity amongst long-time Resident Evil fans.
As first reported by Video Games Chronicle, Resident Evil 4 is the next game in line to get the remake treatment — as the game has been reproted to be currently in development, and that it will be releasing at some point in 2022; with head of PlatinumGames Tatsuya Minami's brand-new M-Two studio in charge of development.
Studio M-Two was also credited as one of the studios that contributed to the development of Capcom's recently released, and critically acclaimed Resident Evil 3 remake, so it would be very safe to say that the Resident Evil 4 remake is in good hands; if the game is actually being in development, of course.
It is actually quite interesting to see Capcom wanting to remake Resident Evil 4. Again, this game has been ported to pretty much every console since the game was originally released in 2005.
Capcom remaking the first three Resident Evil games actually makes a lot more sense when considering that their original versions didn't really age well; particularly in terms of cotnrols.
In fact, Resident Evil 4 is the game that reinvented the series; featuring an over the shoulder camera instead of the traditional fixed camera the series was originally known for, and being slightly more action-oriented than its predecessors.
Could it be that Capcom wants to give players the full survival/horror experience this time around? We'll just have to wait for Capcom's official announcement. In the meantime, it is best to take this news with a pinch of salt.
