RESIDENT EVIL 8: Brief Gameplay Footage Has Been Shown In A New Video Featuring Tennis Star Naomi Osaka

With the new Resident Evil 8 title coming to next-gen consoles, Playstation has released a new video that shows some brief gameplay footage with star tennis player Naomi Osaka. Hit the jump to check it out!

While the new next-gen consoles are the talk of hte town, right now, the games will always be the real reason why anyone buys the hardware. With games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Cyberpunk 2077 acting as major draws for the game systems, there are other titles that will be arriving next year that also deserve some attention.

Video games, much like movies, have various genres, and one of the most exciting and lucrative in gaming has been the survival horror genre. A style of gaming made most famous by the Resident Evil franchise. With Resident Evil 7 Biohazard bringing the main series back to its roots, the next installment, Resident Evil 8 Village, looks to continue that trend and get even more terrifying with new types of monsters.

Recently, PlayStation released a brand new video that features tennis player Naomi Osaka playing the Playstation 5 for the first time. One of the games she got to try was Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales,  but she also got to play the brand new RE title, which allowed viewers the first look at the gameplay! Promising to be just as scary as its previous first-person endeavor, the new game appears to mix the claustrophobic terror of Resident Evil 4 with the survival horror aspect of its previous installment.

While there isn't much gameplay to be seen, it is enough for any gamer to know exactly the type of story they are getting themselves into. Will you be picking up this copy when it releases next year? We would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Set a few years after the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 biohazard, the all-new storyline begins with Ethan and his wife Mia living peacefully in a new location, free from their past nightmares. Just as they are building their new life together, tragedy befalls them once again.

Resident Evil 8 will release for the Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X in 2021!
