It's that time again, so grab the salt and keep your fingers crossed since the latest rumour that has been doing the rounds lately seems to suggest that Capcom may finally be working on the long-clamoured
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake.
The rumour suggest that Capcom may be doing something similar to what they did back when the original
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis came out, by reusing the RE engine and assets that they used in the
Resident Evil 2 remake that released in January of this year.
What's even more interesting is that, according to the rumour, Capcom may be targeting a 2020 release — although it's not specified exactly when in 2020 the alleged
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis remake could release; considering that
Resident Evil 2 released in January of this year, it's likely that it'll take them a bit longer to release a remake for
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
Right after the
Resident Evil 2 remake was released,
Capcom toyed with the idea of remaking Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, as well, but they did mention that it was all up to fans and how they receive Resident Evil 2.
Now that the
Resident Evil 2 remake has even been nominated for
Game of the Year, it's even more incentive for Capcom to truly consider remaking
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis; a game, mind you, that hasn't been re-released since it was ported to the Nintendo GameCube and Sega Dreamcast all the way back in 2003. Fingers crossed.
