Now that
Marvel's Spider-Man is finally out, fans will likely want to know more details abut the game and Sony keeps releasing new details about the game.
Today we are treated to a brand new video that focuses on the game's combat, featuring a more mature and experienced Spider-Man than we've seen in previous games.
One thing that Insomniac Games wanted to do with the character was to make him an adult, explore that side of the character that is seldom seen in previous videogames. This Spider-Man is not a highschool kid any more, he's an adult who has been a hero for 8 years, so his combat style is not sloppy as he's in possession of all his powers.
Creative Director for
Marvel's Spider-Man, Bryan Intihar, describes the combat as Spider-Man being an acrobatic improviser that makes proper use of his environments, as well as his gadgets.
One of the things that Insomniac Games has mastered over the years, thanks to his experience with the
Ratchet & Clank series, is the inclusion of gadgets and
Marvel's Spider-Man will be no different; by having Spider-Man make use of stealth, trap, and even AOE types of gadgets. For this, Insomniac Games made sure that all gadgets were useful in varied types of scenarios—giving Spider-Man lots of options when engaging in combat.
