Is Sucker Punch Working On A PlayStation 4 Exclusive SPIDER-MAN Video Game?
Is Spider-Man finally about to swing his way back on to video game consoles? The signs are all pointing to that being the case, though it seems as if Peter Parker will do so exclusively on the PlayStation 4...
Back in April, the Twitter account for @Nerd_Leaks claimed that Sony is working on an "Untitled Spiderman PS4 Project", with the first trailer possibly set to debut as soon as this year's E3. That was followed by a fake Amazon listing and some predictable Reddit based "rumours" which seemed to discredit those claims, but could it be that the game really is happening after all? Well, it seems so.
A screenshot doing the rounds reveals that Stephen Oyoung (who does motion capture work for Blur Studios) reportedly updated his CV to include this Spider-Man game from Sucker Punch, the Sony exclusive studio responsible for the likes of Sly Cooper and inFamous. That has since been removed, leading to speculation going into overdrive about the possibility that this game really is happening.
Neither Sony nor Sucker Punch have commented, but it's been too long since we last had the chance to play as Spider-Man on a console and a PS4 exclusive adventure would be a big win for Sony, especially on the back of the character's well-received entrance into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War. We're just going to have to wait and see, but keep everything crossed...
