MARVEL'S SPIDER-MAN Features Two Post-Credits Scenes - Which Tease That Its Sequel Will Feature [SPOILER]

Marvel's Spider-Man features two post-credits scenes, both of which tease a fan-favourite element which didn't feature greatly in the game but will evidently have the spotlight in its inevitable sequel.

Marvel's Spider-Man just released and has been greeted by tons of positive reviews. It seems Insomniac Games knew they were working on a hit as the game's credits feature two bonus scenes which tease a sequel. Both scenes give us our first look at two different things that Spider-Man fans have been longing to see in-game - find out what they are below!

Earlier in the game, we see Miles Morales get bitten by an radioactive, red and black spider. In the midst of the credits we get our first look at the bite's effects.

Miles, now imbued with spider-like abilities explains to Peter that his body has undergone some strange changes. Amusingly, Peter thinks Miles is talking about puberty, that is until Miles launches to the ceiling and sticks to the smooth surface without effort. Peter, now realising what Miles was talking about, follows suit and clings to the ceiling - revealing to Miles that he's Spider-Man in the process.

In the comics, Miles is famous for taking over the mantle of Spider-Man following Peter's dramatic demise. Garbed in his own cool, red and black Spidey-suit; he quickly became a fan-favourite character and has remained a mainstay since his introduction.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, an upcoming animated film based on the character, will see Miles being trained in the art of superheroics by Peter Parker - you'd think that Insomniac's sequel will follow a similar storyline.

The following post-credits scene is a lot less light-hearted than its predecessor. It sees Norman Osborn enter a secret lab, which is entirely green-lit, and approach a large tank which contains Harry Osborn - surrounded by webs of black goo. Norman places his hand on the tank's glass and says "We were so close. But I'll keep trying. I will find a cure. I will. I love you, son." Norman, dejected, looks to the ground as one of the black webs attaches to the opposing side of the glass, as if placing its hand on Norman's. And then it cuts to black.

Now, while many are skeptical, it seems pretty clear that the afformentioned black webs are the Venom symbiote. While not typically associated with either of the Osborns; as evidenced by many other elements of Marvel's Spider-Man, Insomniac are opting to take many familiar pieces of the Spidey-mythos and introduce them in new and exciting ways. This change to the classic Spider-Man villain is no different.

Venom is traditionally represented as being a sentient creature from outer space. Always portrayed as a black, liquid-like substance; Venom attaches itself to a host and more-or-less makes them go mad with power. This time around, Norman has evidently imbued his son with the symbiote in order to cure his illness.

Another thing worth noting, about this post-credits scene, is that Norman's face is constantly green (due to the lighting). It could be a coincidence or a happy accident, but with Norman tending to take on his own villainous alter-ego in the comics (The Green Goblin), perhaps it's hinting at something more.
