It is no secret that
Marvel's Spider-Man is one of the best games to have released for the PlayStation 4. In fact, the game is widely considered to be the best
Spider-Man game ever made, as well as one of, if not, the best games based on any superhero.
The developers over at Insomniac Games put all of their hearts and souls into
Marvel's Spider-Man, and successfully managed to tell a story worthy of praise, and gameplay mechanics that — jokes aside — actually managed to make players feel like the iconic wall crawler.
With all the success that
Marvel's Spider-Man has seen, it was only a matter of time until Insomniac Games began working on a sequel to the critically praised title, and new information not only suggests that they currently are, but that the game's sequel could release a lot sooner than we all have anticipated.
During the latest
Kinda Funny Gamecast, video game journalist Imran Khan revealed that he knows that Insomniac Games are currently working on
Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and that he knows quite a lot about this new project.
"
I know too much about [Marvel’s Spider-Man 2], so I can't speculate too much," revealed Khan while also adding that he thinks "
a Spider-Man 2 will come sooner than we think." Khan does actually believe that the game could end up releasing in December of 2021, and that it will not be a PlayStation 5 launch title.
Imran Khan usually has a lot of information about the video game industry, and while he does seem confident about
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 releasing on Chrismtas of 2021, is still best to take this information with a grain of salt. Regardless, it is still great to know that Insomniac Games are currently working on a sequel, especially after those huge reveals at the end of
Marvel's Spider-Man.
Sony Interactive Entertainment, Insomniac Games, and Marvel have teamed up to create an authentic Spider-Man adventure. This isn’t the Spider-Man you’ve met or ever seen before. This is an experienced Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in Marvel's New York. At the same time, he’s struggling to balance his chaotic personal life and career while the fate of millions of New Yorkers rest upon his shoulders.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Game of the Year Edition is currently available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
