While nothing has been officially confirmed just yet by the team at Ubisoft, VG247's Kirk McKeand is reporting that the newly revealed Watch_Dogs Legion is being directed by Clint Hocking, the award-winning creator responsible for the acclaimed Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and Far Cry 2.
Furthermore, the third entry in the main Watch_Dogs series is apparently primarily developed at Ubisoft Toronto, a relatively young Ubisoft studio that gave us 2013's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist and last year's sleeper hit Starlink: Battle for Atlas – seemingly confirming that the French publisher has no real plans to continue the story of Sam Fisher and his Fifth Echelon anytime soon.
According to a recent Amazon listing, Legion will be set in "a near-future, dystopian version of London. It's a post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London's fortunes" – as more details on the title will be shared at E3 2019 – with Ubisoft's press conference taking place on Monday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. PT (10:00AM ET, 7:00AM GMT, 6:00AM on June 11 AEST).
As a reminder, Clint Hocking returned to Ubisoft (to the aforementioned Toronto division) in 2015.
