It's been over a year since Marvel's Avengers released to surprisingly middling reception. Before the game even released, Crystal Dynamics revealed that additional characters would be coming to the game post-launch, one of those being none other than everybody's favourite webslinger: Spider-Man.
Now, after such a long wait, they have finally revealed when the wall-crawler will be coming to their live-service online multiplayer game. Unfortunately for those on Xbox, PC, and Stadia, Spider-Man will be exclusively available on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Nevertheless, those on the Sony side of things can expect Spider-Man content to drop on November 30th; just twenty-six days from now.
The event is called "Spider-Man: With Great Power" and will introduce the new hero with an all-new story. Crystal Dynamics are still yet to provide us with footage or even a glimpse at Spidey himself but Square Enix has provided a textual tease for the upcoming story, via their blog, which you can read below:
Peter Parker uncovers AIM's new plan to acquire technology that could make their Synthoid army unstoppable and total domination inevitable. He must partner with the Avengers to stop this looming threat, and forms a tentative friendship with Ms. Marvel and Black Widow while keeping his identity hidden. As a Hero accustomed to working solo, he struggles with the new dynamics of working with a team. Will he join up full-time with the Avengers, or stay independent in his fight against AIM?
And below you can see the roadmap that the studio recently tweeted out (via @PlayAvengers) which now includes the much-anticipated event.
