For those who weren’t aware, Apex Legends is still a thing, and it has a cool gun known as the Charge Rifle that can kill people at around 600 meters away. It’s a pretty impressive weapon, but no longer because the developers have nerfed it with the latest patch.

From here on, it's no longer possible to attach extended energy magazines to the Charge Rifle to kill your enemies. What Respawn has done, is increase the base magazine to hold 12 bullets, which is the same size when a level 1 extended mag is added.

As it stands right now, the Charge Rifle can fire four shots per magazine, where each shot releases three bullets.

Here is what Respawn had to say via Twitter:

Heads up, Legends: This morning we deployed a small patch that implemented the following changes to the Charge Rifle:

  • Can no longer equip extended energy magazines
  • Base magazine capacity is now 12 (4 shots)
  • Fire rate reduced
  • Damage falloff has been modified

Time will tell if fans are interested in the changes, or if they will simply switch to the next best thing.
