It's been six years since Rocket League debuted and now Psyonix are expanding the franchise to mobile!
Rocket League Sideswipe is a new mobile game developed by Psyonix themselves which adapts the Rocket League experience for mobile devices. There are many modes and car customisation just like Rocket League itself, however, the gameplay takes place from a side-on view so it's essentially 2D.
The soccar and hoops modes have made the jump to mobile, though they only go up to 2v2 in amount of players per game. 1v1 is also an option. The matches themselves also only amount to two minutes as opposed to Rocket League's five minute matches. Offline play is also available wherein plays can hone their skills in training.
Rocket League Sideswipe launched on November 15, 2021 for Australia and New Zealand but finally it's now available elsewhere too. Psyonix has announced (via @RocketLeague) that their new mobile game is now available worldwide for both iOS and Android devices. Head to your respective app store. Here's a link to the Apple App Store where you can learn more and view some screenshots of the game in action. You can also check out the gameplay trailer in the tweet below.
