Starlink: Battle for Atlas is an upcoming space action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft that will be coming out for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. When the game was presented during the Ubisoft conference at this year's E3, and to everyone's surprise, it revealed that Fox McCloud—from the Star Fox series—would be a playable character, as exclusive content for the Nintendo Switch version of the game.

Today we got an official video by Ubisoft in which Starlink: Battle fo Atlas' producer, Matthew Rose, comments on the chance of having Star Fox join the game, as well as him being playable throughout the entirety of the game—as well as his classic Arwing being fully customisable.

Accordign to Rose, Star Fox is playable since the beginning of the game and players can even choose to play exclusively as him. Another interesting thing he mentioned is that Fox will include his own content, missions, and a whole new sepearater storyline that will shed light on why Fox is in Atlas tracking down his nemesis—Wolf O'Donnell.

It really is great to see Ubisoft and Nintendo teaming up once again to include Nintendo characters in their new games. Last year Ubisoft and Nintendo partnered to deliver Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, and this year is Star Fox's turn to join Starlink: Battle for Atlas. Maybe this will lead to some Ubisoft characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which I'm sure fans will enjoy. Plus, Rayman has always been a character fans have been clamouring for to show up in Nintendo's all-star brawler and now seems like the perfect time for such a crossover.

Lead a group of heroic interstellar pilots who use modular starships to mix and match their unique gear and skills on the fly. Travel the star system to unite the galaxy against villainous destructive forces.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One on the 16th of October.
