RUMOUR: According To Sources, Nintendo Will Not Be Streaming A Direct Presentation In June

Disappointing news coming our way, as sources seem to claim that Nintendo will not be streaming a Nintendo Direct presentation in June, as initially planned, due to pandemic lockdown.

For the last few years, Nintendo has decided to stream their now traditional Direct presentations during the E3 event. While this never meant that they wouldn't be present at the E3, it did mean that they would not be hosting a stage presentation with a live audience.

Nintendo's approach was so effective the first time around, that the company opted to do that from then on — which is the same approach that some other companies have decided to adapt as well.

Because of the Coronavirus pandemic, pretty much every other developer has now revealed that they will be streaming Nintendo Direct-like presentation to show off the new projects they have been working on, but this year it seems that Nintendo will not be streaming their annual presentation.

According to sources, Nintendo will simply not be streaming a Nintendo Direct presentation due to the Coronavirus lockdown; particularly because the developers haven't been able to properly adapt to the work-from-home modality — as Japanese people lack the resources to work from home, and some don't even have WiFi.

This information actually comes from some of the developers that had been working with Nintendo to put together the Direct presentation, but the Japanese developer has recently told them that the presentation will simply not be held any more.

While this isn't that much of a big deal for Nintendo, this still would affect developers that were planning on unveiling their new games on the Nintendo Direct presentation. While they can still release their videos online themselves, some will not get the attention that a Direct attracts.

Nintendo not streaming their annual Direct presentation doesn't mean that they won't be releasing information about upcoming titles, especially since Direct presentations aren't exclusive to big video game events like E3; it is very likely that they will still reveal information at a later date.

With all that said, this is still news that are likely to disappoint fans who have been eagerly waiting for Nintendo's presentation in June of this year.
