Marvel Rivals is heating up with its July 17th summer update, bringing the Summer Special Event inspired by Marvel’s classic Swimsuit Specials. Alongside festive cosmetics, the update includes gameplay tweaks, quality-of-life improvements, and crucial bug fixes. Here is everything you need to know about the patch.
The Summer Special event draws directly from the Swimsuit Specials in Marvel Comics, showcasing heroes and villains in their beach-ready best. Players can earn rewards by leveling up through event challenges, and those who upgrade to the Premium Edition can unlock exclusive cosmetics.

Accessory Points can now be earned in Practice VS. AI mode, giving players another way to grind cosmetic unlocks without competitive pressure.
Bug Fixes and Optimizations
All Platforms:
Resolved a bug where changing keybinds for keyboard and controller could interfere with one another.
Maps and Modes:
Fixed terrain issues causing characters to clip or become stuck.
Fixed broken object physics and collision glitches.
Hero Fixes:
Monster Hulk: Fixed a bug where Hulk’s Ultimate displayed incorrectly when targeting players on portals during the animation.
Magneto: Fixed an issue where he could still suffer negative effects from Cloak’s Terror Cape even when using Metallic Curtain to block.
This patch comes shortly after the start of Season 3 on July 11th, which brought new team-up abilities, two Domination maps, and the debut of Phoenix as a playable hero. Looking ahead, Season 3.5 is scheduled to begin on August 8th, continuing the game’s rapid pace of updates.
