It's been a big week for Kingdom Hearts 3. The highly anticipated game, which has seemingly been in development forever, not only received an official release date this week but also introduced us to the world of FrozenFor most fans, that probably would've been enough, but Square Enix wasn't done. During Sony's E3 PlayStation showcase we received yet another new trailer, this time revealing that we will be returning to the world of Pirates of the Caribbean.

As revealed in the trailer below, the Pirates world will introduce new combat styles, underwater battles, and new keyblade transformations. In addition to the new world, we also get another sizzle reel featuring glimpses of gameplay across the various worlds, including Tangled, Monsters Inc., and Toy Story.

We last visited the Pirates of the Caribbean world when we traveled to Port Royal in Kingdom Hearts II (and Final Mix). Based on the live-action movie The Curse of the Black Pearl, the bosses we encountered there were Captain Barbossa and the Illuminator, and the Grim Reaper. As you can see in the above trailer, Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Elizabeth Swann, and the rest of the pirate crew will be making a returning guest appearance in KH3.

Kingdom Hearts 3 will finally release on January 29, 2019.
