Wait no more, as Square Enix confirmed during the
Kingdom Hearts Orchestra premiere in Los Angeles that
Kingdom Hearts III will finally hit both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 29, 2019. The third game in the beloved series has seen a multitude of delays, and what's even more interesting, was officially announced exactly five years ago, on June 10, 2013 at Sony's annual E3 press conference.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is going to be playable at this year's E3 and fans will finally be able to see if this five-year-wait was worth it or not. The game's combining new heroes with favorite characters from Square Enix and universally praised Disney properties set after the events of
KH: Dream Drop Distance, and puts you in control of returning protagonist Sora, who is joined once again by Donald Duck and Goofy in their search for the Guardians of Light and the
Key to Return Hearts.
Despite having a very strong offer, including
Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Just Cause 4, People Can Fly's brand new shooter, and the
Avengers project, a lengthy, clip-heavy
Kingdom Hearts III’s presentation could be the highlight of the upcoming Square Enix presentation. Be prepared, as the first Square E3 conference in years will air on Monday, June 11 at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET.
