Streets of Rage 4 was announced in August of last year for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, bringing back some of that classic beat 'em up action that will take players all the way back to the golden era of the now-almost-inexistent genre.
This brand-new entry in the
Streets of Rage series, however, is not being developed by Sega — who have given the rights to Lizardcube and Guard Crush to develop the upcoming title; making
Streets of Rage 4 the first game in the series to not be developed by Japanese devs.
Today, the game's publisher has released a very interesting behind the scenes video for
Streets of Rage 4, focusing this time on the returning and new composers working on the game's soundtrack — bringing backcomposers Yūzō Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima, as well as introducing Yoko Shimomura(
Street Fighter II: The Wolrd Warrior,
Legend of Mana), Hideki Naganuma(
Jet Set Radio,
Super Monkey Ball), and Keiji Yamagishi(
Ninja Gaiden,
Tecmo Bowl).

Featuring hand-drawn visuals from the team behind 2017’s gorgeous Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap remake, Streets of Rage 4 builds upon the classic trilogy’s gameplay with new mechanics, a fresh story and a gauntlet of dangerous stages with a serious crime problem.
Streets of Rage 4 will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One in 2019.
