Lionsgate Games and nWay have officially announced that their upcoming fighting video game
Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid won't launch with a roster of 15 fighters as initially planned. Instead, the highly anticipated title will give you a chance to battle other players and the AI as 9 playable characters, with more beloved
Power Rangers heroes and villains joining the game in a series of post-launch DLCs.
Battle for the Grid will feature the following characters at its April launch: Jason, Tommy, Gia Moran, Lord Drakkon, Goldar, Ranger Slayer, Magna Defender, Kat Manx, and finally Mastodon Sentry. The standard edition will cost $19.99, while a Collector’s Edition that includes the Season One Pass (with three new heroes, new Arcade stories, and an exclusive Green Ranger character skin) will cost $39.99.
At its core,
Battle for the Grid is all about pitting two teams of three against each other, and while the game's full launch roster has been officially confirmed, its exact release date still remains a big mystery.
