Samurai Shodown, SNK's long-running sword-fighting series, is getting a reboot — which is simply titled
Samurai Shodown — that will be bringing back some of the most iconic fighters in the series, as well as introducing some new characters that have already garnered quite the following amongst fans.
This new entry in the series was announced in September of last year, and fans were immediately excited to see it being revived and with a flashy new art style that fits the game's setting almost too perfectly; not to mention how beautiful some of the environments look.
Needless to say, fans have been anticipating this new
Samurai Shodown pretty much since its announcement. Now that we're only a few hours away from the game's release — officially launching for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC — fans are probably getting impatient.
For those who can't wait any longer for the game to release, they can give the cinematic opening movie a watch — as it's managed to find its way online. What's even more fascinating is the fact that SNK has recreated the classic intro from the original
Samurai Shodown on the Neo Geo; from the iconic Sakura petals falling down, to Haohmaru slicing of the stone lanterns.
