Bandai Namco has made a rather surprising announcement, as they have just revealed that Jump Force — Spike Chunsoft's ambitious fighting crossover game — is being released for the Nintendo Switch, and is expected to launch at a later date this year.
This isn't just a lazy port, as Jump Force Deluxe Edition for the Nintendo Switch will be including some features that aren't available on other platforms. The biggest change here is the new multiplayer modes, which will now allow players to engage in 2-V-2, and even 3-v-3 offline matches.
Of course we know that Jump Force already features 2-v-2 and 3-v-3 modes, but now up to 6 players can participate; each controlling one character, although the announcement trailer doesn't really show us a proper match, so it is likely that all 6 players won't be fighting simultaneously.
Bandai Namco has also revealed that over 50 characters from Shōnen Jump will be playable in Jump Force Deluxe Edition; this also includes all of the characters from the game's Character Pass #1.
The announcement trailer for Jump Force Deluxe Edition doesn't show off that much gameplay in general, but we do get to see how the game looks like — from a graphical standpoint, of course — and while the graphics have been predictably downgraded, it still looks like it will be a decent port.
