There is a window of time that the Developers of Mortal Kombat X have to include Spawn into their video game. In an interview Todd McFarlane (creator of spawn) hinted that it is perfectly plausible to see Spawn in the video game saying “They have access to be able to use the character in a couple of their games, if they want to.” Macfarlane, in essence has already given the go ahead to use him in the game. He continued,
“Again, it’s up to their discretion. I gave them a window of time, so I’ll just leave it to them to do what it is that they want. Eventually, they’ll phone me and they’ll go, ‘Hey, we want to use him here. Is that OK?’ Well, technically, it’s OK because we’ve already said yes. They just are letting us know. I don’t know if they’re ever going to use him.”
It is highly likely that we could see Spawn in Mortal Kombat X at some point. Whether it be a earned, an add on or a purchased character.
What about predator and Jason? An unnamed source told VideoGamer.com Predator will be joined by Colonel Al Dillon, played by Carl Weathers in the original movie. Weathers has allegedly allowed for his likeness to be used for the game.
Ed Boon on his twitter account has actively taking guest character suggestions from fans all around the world. He has retweeted a few suggestions including Jason from the Friday the 13th movies, but it is unknown whether or not there have been any discussions in using the character in the game. Other rumored characters include Pinhead from Hellraiser, Frank the Bunny from Donnie Darko, and Ash Williams of Evil Dead
