It's been quite a while since Mortal Kombat 11 hit store shelves. The game was actually released in March of 2019, and this year NetherRealm Studios released Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, which is a somewhat updated version of the base game that includes additional content.
The developers at NetherRealm Studios are still working on Mortal Kombat 11, and they still have a few characters to reveal. In fact, some dataminers believe that they already know who the next fighters to joing the game's roster is(more on that here), and it looks like it won't disappoint fans.
Mortal Kombat series Co-creator Ed Boon announced earlier today that Mortal Kombat 11 has reached a new milestone, revealing that the popular fighting game has already managed to sell over a very impressive 8 million copies since its original launch in March of last year.
Boon doesn't go into details, but it is safe to assume that those 8 million copies include Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath — which can be purchased independently or as an upgrade for the base game — but he does reveal that more news about Mortal Kombat 11 will be shared this week.
With Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath having released in May of this year, and with more characters yet to be revealed, it looks like the game still has got some life left in it. Sure, the game only released last year, but Boon teasing news is definitely reassuring.
Could it be that NetherRealm Studios will be confirming the characters that were rumoured last week? Will Mileena fans finally get their wish granted? We'll just have to patiently wait until the developers reveal more information later this week.
On May 26th the epic saga continues with Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath! This new entry expands the critically acclaimed story campaign of Mortal Kombat 11 with an all-new cinematic narrative centered around trust and deceit. Joining the fight will be Mortal Kombat alumni, Fujin and Sheeva, and guest character, RoboCop, making his series debut!
Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath is currently available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
