It had been a while since developer Arc System Works had revealed anything new about the upcoming Guilty Gear -Strive -, with the latest real update on the game being the announcement that Millia Rage and Zato-1 were joining the roster; this was in March.
With Millia and Zato-1 having been revealed, Guilty Gear - Strive - already features a roster of 9 characters that include Sol Badguy, Ky Kiske, Axl Low, May, Chip Zanuff, Potemkin, and Faust; all of them returning characters that have been in pretty much every game in the Guilty Gear series.
Thankfully, Arc System Works announced that a brand-new character was going to be on Friday the 12th of June, which is actually today, and they have delivered with an action-packed trailer that reveals Ramlethal Valentine to be the new veteran fighter being added to the roster.
What's disappointing is that these characters they've already revealed are all characters that players expect to be in Guilty Gear -Strive - , since they have been in pretty much every game. Arc System Works reveals that the next character will be revealed in August, and it will probably be another veteran fighter.
With all that said, it is also nice to see that the developers aren't leaving any characters behind, so it will still be great to see who's the new character that they will be revealing in August — veteran or brand-new — especially since we may finally get a release date for the game with said announcement; considering that Guilty Gear - Strive - is scheduled to launch late in 2020.
