When SNK announced their brand-new
Samurai Shodown, the game was revealed to become available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC, but only the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game released in June of this year.
Nintendo Switch and PC players have had to keep waiting without even knowing when exactly the game was supposed to release. Thankfully for Nintendo Switch owners, SNK has already revealed that
Samurai Shodown will be releasing on the handheld hybrid console on the 12th of December in Japan.
While we only know that
Samurai Shodown for the Nintendo Switch will release on the
12th of December in Japan, it is very likely that the game ends up releasing worldwide on the same day or just a few days later, so this is still pretty good news.
Today, SNK has released a trailer for the Nintendo Switch version of
Samurai Shodown, showing off the features that it will be including — such as local multiplayer, portable and docked mode, and what seems to be a solid 60 frames per second both docked and in handheld mode.
What's even more interesting, although it still needs to be confirmed as a feature outside of Japan, is that
Samurai Shodown will also be including the Neo Geo Pocket version of
Samurai Shodown 2 for those who pre-order the game; again, we need confirmation on this also being available here in the West.
