Streets of Rage 4 is one of those games that fans of the original
Streets of Rage series could have never, in a million years, anticipated ever happening — which is one of the main reasons why the game has suddenly become a lot of people's most anticipated game this year.
It isn't just about nostalgia, though, since
Streets of Rage 4 is bringing back the Beat 'em Up genre in a way that some other titles can only even dream of ; with some beautiful hand-drawn graphics, and an aesthetic that fits the series almost too perfectly.
Dotemu, one of the game's developer alongside Lizardcube and Guard Crush, has already published on other series revivals like
Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap; a game that also got a graphics overhaul that made the game simply gorgeous to look at, which is exactly what they've done with
Streets of Rage 4.
While we still don't have an official release date for the game, Dotemu has managed to keep players excited for the game by releasing bits of information every now and then — and today they have released a short clip with some gameplay footage for
Streets of Rage 4, giving us a glimpse of Axel and Blaze fighting their way through hordes of criminals.
