Fans of the
Street Fighter series who may expect a new entry in Capcom's long-running video game fighting series may not want to hold their breath, as new information seems to point that a
Street Fighter VI may not come out for quite the long time.
The news comes from Yoshinori Ono, who replied to an image reated by artist
@BossLogic, who created a poster for
Street Fighter VI for the PlayStation 5. In his reply, Ono said that he's honoured by the illustration but that it is still "too early", and that he should probably wait for another 10 years until the game finally releases.
This artist usually makes posters like these just for fun, so in no way was he hired by Capcom to tease the game; it's just as a homage, if anything.
Now, Ono's statement is by no means official, and his reply is obviously meant as a compliment to the artist — although he may not be entirely joking when he means that the next entry in the series could take a while to be developed; even if it doesn't necessarily take 10 years to develop.
That said,
Street Fighter V is still getting a lot of content, and considering how bad of a launch it originlly had, it is still best that they take their time before they make another
Street Fighter that offers almost no content at launch.
