Bandai Namco's fighting extravaganza hits stores worldwide today, alongside 4A Games'
Metro: Exodus, Xbox Game Studios'
Crackdown 3, and finally Ubisoft Montreal's
Far Cry: New Dawn. Given that all those titles are definitely big-budget productions, it's unfortunate that the most promising title of them all, featuring 40 playable and distinct anime and manga characters, is getting torn apart in reviews.
Yes, after nearly a year of waiting,
Jump Force launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC today, giving all fans of Japanese culture a chance to battle other players and the AI as beloved fighters such as Ichigo & Aizen (
Bleach), Yugi Muto (
Yu-Gi-Oh), Gon, Kurapika, Killua (
Hunter X Hunter), Ryo Saeba (
City Hunter), Kenshiro (
Fist of the North Star), and Pegasus Seiya & Dragon Shiryu from
Saint Seiya.
After that rocky launch (with many critics complaining about
Jump Force's countless loading screens, performance issues, and infuriating game-breaking bugs), Namco has announced that their latest title will receive a major hotfix in the coming days that will hopefully make the title more enjoyable, bringing "
loading time improvements, ability to skip cut-scenes, stability and battle bug fixes."
For the first time ever, the most famous Manga heroes are thrown into a whole new battleground: our world. Uniting to fight the most dangerous threat, the Jump Force will bear the fate of the entire human kind. Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Weekly Jump Magazine, the game is making the most of latest technologies to bring characters to life in a never-seen-before realistic design.
Jump Force is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
