Samurai Shodown, known as Samurai Spirits in Japan, is a series of sword fighting games developed by SNK. The first game in the series was released for SNK's NeoGeo back in 1993. In contrast, the last game in the series,Samurai Shodown VI, was released over 10 years ago, back in 2005.

The Samuri Shodown games take place in the late 18th century and feature fighters who wield swords as their weapons of choice. The combat in Samurai Shodown is fast-paced and pretty much everything one would expect from SNK.

Today, SNK has announced that the Samurai Shodown series is making its triumphant return in 2019. The trailer did not specify what consoles the game is coming for or the official date the game will be releasing on, but we did get to see many returning fighters including Haohmaru, Nakoruru, Galford, and Jubei.

Samurai Shodown will be available in 2019.
