Generation Zero is almost here as Avalanche Studios' first new IP in years releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 26, 2019. In this upcoming shooter, you find yourself battling against cutting-edge steampunk machines that ruthlessly invaded the serene countryside of 1980s Sweden.
To have a chance against those robots, you will have to channel your inner freedom fighter, utilizing battle-tested guerrilla tactics, and even team-up with up to three of your friends in co-op multiplayer.
While it's hard to say what
Generation Zero really is, it shares some similarities with the looter shooter subgenre, allowing you to "
take down enemies, support downed friends by reviving them, and share the loot after an enemy is defeated." According to Avalanche,
Zero will also let you to "
destroy a specific enemy component, be it armor, weapons or sensory equipment" as all the damages will be apparently "
permanent," powered by the developers' own Apex Engine (that debuted in
Just Cause 4).
