DICE Developer Slams CALL OF DUTY INFINITE WARFARE. Justified?

Battlefield and Call of Duty have been rivals in the first person shooter realm for quite sometime now. This past week, Activision released a trailer for this years Call of Duty game. The trailer was met with praise and scorn from fans. DICE Dev Roland Smedberg had this to say about the Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Trailer on his twitter account. Note: It was later deleted.

The twitter banter didn't end at that tweet, but this tweet says it all. Is it justified? ABSOLUTELY!  In the days of political correctness this guy would have been run out of town and exiled. In reality, everyone should stand firm and applaud this man. Call of Duty has been exactly what the tweet states for years now, but before this article gets ahead of itself... DICE isn't perfect either. Previous Battlefield games were riddled with bugs, but DICE handled it with grace (even though they were sued) and dignity. Activision has been theiving money out of consumers for years. The campaigns are awful, the graphics stink and DLC content is WAY to expensive for what gamers get. This is the third year in a row that the new Call of Duty game has resemembled its predicessor the year before.

People will continue to buy Call of Duty games because of the tremendous following and the esports coverage, but that ins't an excuse for subpar games. Yes, from a business standpoint its best to pump out games as fast as humanly possible, but there is a point where the game suffers. It's great that other developers are calling out and noticing games that are thrown together. It promotes competition to create better games. When a developer calls out your company out for using outdated technology it should mean something to your company. With all of this being said, gamers need to take a stand against this type of theivery.
