We're just a few weeks away from the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Activision is reminding fans of that with the debut of the global launch gameplay trailer. The trailer focuses primarily on the game's story campaign, although we do get a glimpse of the highly anticipated Zombies mode.

Set in 1991, Black Ops 6's story follows rogue operatives Troy Marshall and Frank Woods as they assemble a team of agents to hunt down Pantheon, a shadowy clandestine force that has infiltrated the Central Intelligence Agency and branded anyone who resists them as traitors to the United States.

"The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity," Activision teases.

In addition to the main campaign, Black Ops 6 will also launch with a robust multiplayer offering that features 16 new multiplayer maps, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6. Returning in this year's game is the traditional Prestige system.

The fan-favorite Zombies mode returns as well with two brand-new maps available at launch. This year's game marks the return of Round-Based Zombies. Players can also look forward to post-launch content in the form of new maps and "groundbreaking experiences" for both Multiplayer and Zombies.

While Black Ops 6 sees numerous innovations and features, the big one getting the most attention is Omnimovement. Omnimovement is an all-new global movement system that players to spring, slide, and dive in any direction (forward, sidestepping, and backpedaling).

"This innovation immediately allows the player to move like never before and seamlessly chain combat maneuvers together, like sliding, diving and a newly enhanced supine prone, all with a full 360 degrees range of motion," Activision explains.

In addition to the launch trailer, Activision has also dropped a "Campaign Intel Drop" video where developer Raven Software offers new insight into the single-player story.

“The campaign is definitely like playing through a summer blockbuster that’s accessible to anyone coming in,” says lead narrative designer Murray Kraft.

In the video below, you can get a quick recap of the events leading into Black Ops 6, including a brief introduction to new and returning characters. You'll also learn of all the different settings you'll visit in this globe-trotting adventure — Kuwait, Iraq, Washington D.C., and the Soviet Union, to name a few.

“The sheer variety in the game is pretty spectacular in that there’s a lot of space to explore. The player can do it in any way they want, we’re allowing different strategies in these spaces,” adds Kraft.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled to be released on October 25  for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC. It will be available to play through Game Pass on Day One.
