With just a few more hours left of Cyber Monday, there are still some last-minute deals to be had. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, the latest installment in Activision's blockbuster shooter franchise, has received a temporary discount.
Both the Xbox and PlayStation digital storefronts currently have the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 - Cross-Gen Bundle available for $59.49, 15% off its regular price of $69.99. This marks the lowest price we've seen since the game released in November.
The Cross-Gen Bundle is the most basic version, offering the standalone game that can be played across console family generations (PS4 and PS5 or Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One). You can grab the deal for Xbox here, while the PlayStation sale can be found here. If you prefer a physical version, you can get it for $64.95 right now on Amazon.
On PC, you can head over to the Battle.net digital storefront and also get it for $59.49 until the end of the day.
The PlayStation Store says the offer ends on Tuesday, December 2nd, at 2:59 a.m. ET, which suggests this is a last-minute Cyber Monday deal only. However, it's possible we could see this sort of deal extended throughout the holiday season, depending on how sales go for the game.
It's rare to see such a deal offered on a new Call of Duty game. Typically, the blockbuster shooter is one of the best-selling games of the year and retains its full price throughout the holiday months.
However, there is speculation that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has not sold as well as past entries in the title. Activision has been unusually quiet when it comes to boasting about sales. Typically, the publisher makes some sort of announcement regarding units shipped, overall sales, or the number of active players. This year's celebratory post simply mentioned a "great response to the quality and depth of gameplay in Black Ops 7."
Recent reports out of Europe indicate a 63% drop in launch sales compared to Battlefield 6 and a 50% drop compared to Black Ops 6. The decline has been attributed to a combination of negative reception from players and a shift in player interest toward other titles, particularly Call of Duty's biggest competitor, Battlefield 6, which launched in October and has received rave reviews.
