Diablo IV Season 15 Is Delayed After Login Failures Hit For Newest Season

Blizzard delayed Diablo IV Season 15 after players could not log in on launch day. Season of Hell's Legacy was the 30th anniversary drop. No new start time yet.

Diablo IV Season 15 has not made it out the door to the players quite yet. The official Diablo account posted twice on Tuesday as login failures piled up, then said Season of Hell's Legacy is delayed.

The first note landed in the afternoon. Blizzard said it was aware of an issue preventing some players from accessing Diablo IV, that the team was investigating, and that another update would follow. The second note, a couple of hours later, named the season. Issues affecting today's launch of Season of Hell's Legacy were still being worked. As a result, Season 15 is currently delayed.

Hell's Legacy was supposed to go live September 15 at 9:30 a.m. PDT, half an hour earlier than recent seasons, with patch 3.2.1. Blizzard had called it the centerpiece of Diablo's 30th anniversary. Deckard Cain was making his Diablo IV debut. The seasonal quest sends you after Echoes of Mephisto, Baal, and Diablo at the Worldstone Chamber, the Durance of Hate, and Tristram Cathedral. Waking Nightmare dungeons, Soul Splinters, about nine Legacy Uniques, and Rebirth were the other headline systems.

That whole package is on hold. Kotaku noted that anyone who already slipped into a seasonal character will likely see that progress rolled back once the servers come back clean. Blizzard has not confirmed a wipe in the two X posts. Treat anything you did today as disposable until they say otherwise.

Season launches in this game have a history of queue walls. This one arrived the same week as BlizzCon, a Diablo V class panel, a Netflix series announcement, and Diablo IV landing on Nintendo Switch 2. The anniversary season was the live-service half of that week. Login capacity did not match the marketing.

Replies under the official posts were the usual mix. Queue jokes. Demands for a time estimate. One comparison to a power company that at least guesses at restoration. Blizzard's official updates are the typical "working to resolve" and "share updates as we have them."

Are you going to wait for them to turn the lights back on, or will you try again tomorrow? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
