Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launches on November 13th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. We're currently in the midst of the upcoming first-person shooter game's final open beta weekend. This free-to-play event began on Friday and has been available since. The beta pertains to the game's multiplayer mode.
A couple of game modes, maps, weapons, and operators are available but by no means all of them. The early access experience is meant to be a taste of what the full game will offer. Additionally, the beta will allow Treyarch an opportunity to gauge how players will play and make any necessary changes that need to be made before launch.
Originially, this open beta was set to run from Friday, October 17th until Monday, October 19th (tomorrow). However, Activision and Treyarch have decided to add on an additional day (via @CallofDuty). The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War open beta will now conclude on Tuesday, October 20th at 10 AM PT — rather than at that time on Monday.
Of course, the open beta is entirely free-to-play — more on that here. You simply have to download it from your respective platform's store. What's more, by participating in the beta and ranking up; you can earn tier skips which can be used to progress through the battle pass in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone — more on that here.
