Last year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare released in September. The year before, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 released on August 3rd. Well, it's now August and the next Call of Duty game is yet to even be officially revealed.
Some information and leaks have managed to seep through the cracks, however. Back in June, developmental footage of Call of Duty 2020 in action surfaced online — find out more about that here. What's more, rumours began to emerge which claimed that the next instalment in the first-person shooter series will be called "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War".
Also in June, the game's developmental alpha leaked online and seemed to reveal even more about the upcoming entry — more on that here. For instance, it seems that Call of Duty 2020 will feature a campaign mode, multiplayer mode, zombies mode, and battle royale mode.
Now it's all but confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the name of the next instalment as a seemingly official promotional tie-in with Doritos has leaked. Images reveal the game's rather simplistic logo.
What exactly is the tie-in? Well, with select batches of Doritos, you can get a double-XP boost for the game's multiplayer. Most notably, one of the images reveals that the promotion begins on October 5th. This means that the game itself will likely release nearabout then.
