Around $1.6 million was raised by the Bungie Foundation, which is the developer’s official charity. The money was raised for children hospitals in the United States and Canada, and from what we’ve gathered, over 40,000 individuals donated.

Of that number, over 5,500 are streamers from 104 countries around the world.

Bungie held its charity event, Care2Give for this very purpose, and so far, it appears to be a massive success. The event ran from October 24 to November 10, and the money will go directly to the foundation's iPads for Kids Program and Children's Miracle Network.

This organization is known for giving children curated content on iPads in order to make sure their stay in the hospital is less of a stressful experience.

The Destiny community held several fundraising streams at the behest of Care2Give. Streamers who meet a certain milestone gained prizes for their efforts such as discounts in the Bungie store, in-game items, and even the chance to tour the studio.
