It’s been a bumpy road for Destiny 2, but as we wrap up January and begin to settle into the new year, Bungie has provided a clearer outlook about their plans for the game. Taking to the blog, Bungie posted a roadmap which details development for the next few months of content for Destiny 2. While it lacks specific details, it gives us a good idea of what’s to come.

The first new update is expected to arrive on February 27 and focuses on strikes and social interactions. This update should include score tracking, changes to emblems and auras, the ability to see Fireteam members on destination maps, public text chat on PC, fewer repeat exotics, and mod and shader abilities as well as vendor viewing for Companion. There’s also a stretch goal for unique Nightfall strike rewards, though Bungie warns this may not make the deadline for the update.

The second major update is due out on March 27 and focuses on Sandbox and Crucible features. Highlights for this update include weapon/ability sandbox changes, heroic Strike modifiers, Iron Banner 6v6, weekly Crucible playlists, and penalties for Crucible quitters.

The last update is planned for May and introduces a new season of content that includes an Eater of Worlds Prestige mode, seasonal Crucible rankings, private matches, increased Vault space, Exotic masterworks, seasonal vendor progression and faction rallies improvements.

Bungie notes that larger projects are in development, presumably the next expansion, but these are the enhancements every Destiny 2 player will experience "in the immediate future" - although the delivery dates may change. More specific details on these features will be shared in the coming weeks.
