DESTINY 2: FORSAKEN 's New Trailer And Developer Diary Really Want You To Know This Is The Sequel's TAKEN KING

Cayde-6 has paid the ultimate price. However, in your quest for revenge Bungie is rolling out sweeping changes to the game in an Update that's seeking to bring the sequel more in line with what Destiny 1 evolved into after its big Fall expansion, The Taken King.

In the launch trailer, the Vanguard is divided on whether to go after Prince Uldren full-scale or focus on defending their home.  It seems things will be left to the player when it comes to delivering Uldren's comeuppance.

In the developer's diary, there are a ton of cool moments including what appears to be the return of the Heavy Machine Gun.  Check out both videos below and be sure to let us know what you think.

The Reef has fallen to lawlessness, and now the most-wanted criminals in the galaxy – the Barons & Uldren Sov – have organized a jailbreak at the Prison of Elders. You and Cayde-6 have been sent in to bring law and order back to the embattled facility, but things do not go to plan. Facing insurmountable odds, Cayde-6 ends up paying the ultimate price. Beyond the Vanguard’s authority, you’ll venture into the Reef alone and take justice into your own hands. Explore new regions, awaken new powers, earn a wealth of new weapons, and uncover lost Awoken secrets. The hunt is on.

Destiny 2: Forsaken takes us back to the Reef and introduces two new destinations: The Tangled Shore and The Dreaming City. The new 4v4 competitive PvE mode Gambit is also coming along with a brand-new raid, nine additional Supers, and a slew of story missions, adventures, and other activities.

Destiny 2: Forsaken arrives September 4, 2018.
